Pack circles

Montague Circle

John H. Montague was a signatory on the original Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA charter. The passion and energy of our Montague Circle supporters embodies his commitment to improving the lives and health of the pets and people in his community and the dedication to turn belief into action. Their commitment to supporting our mission is alive in every donor’s first gift and every successive step to sustaining our shelter’s work.

A monthly donation of $10 to $24 or an annual gift of $150 to $349 places supporters in the Montague Circle. Their impact is directly seen at the individual pet level. Each month they cover essential vaccinations and treatments for the pets in our care.

Peyton Circle

Emma Peyton was a co-founder and signatory on the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA charter whose pioneering work stewarded the shelter during its early years. The sustaining spirit and vision of Emma lives anew in Peyton Circle members who continue to support our shelter as we grow to meet the changing needs of our community now, and into the near and distant future.

A monthly donation of $25 to $49 or an annual gift of $350 to $699 places supporters in the Peyton Circle. Their impact is directly seen at the individual pet level. Each month they cover essential retrovirus testing or microchip for the pets in our care.

Woods Circle

Before the shelter, before the charter, Dr. Woods had a stable on East Market Street and an innate desire to help. He welcomed animals in need, gave them shelter, and care. Our Woods Circle members don’t shy away from the work at hand. Their continuing support through donations, volunteering, and fostering, mirror Dr. Woods’ integrity and compassion. They, like him, turn towards the community members during their times of need, pet and person alike, to make a difference.

A monthly donation of $50 to $99 or an annual gift of $700 to $1,299 places supporters in the Woods Circle. Their impact is directly seen at the individual pet level. Each month they cover essential vaccinations and flea prevention for the pets in our care.

Rothery Circle

Agnes Rothery Pratt used her position in the Charlottesville community and legacy to bring awareness to and expand Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA’s impact on the community. Under Rothery’s leadership, the organization expanded its services, providing vaccinations for stray animals and finding homes for adoptable pets while continuing to grow its fundraising efforts. Our first shelter building was named for her to honor her stewardship of and her significant bequest to the shelter. Rothery Circle Members reflect Agnes’s belief in legacy building through good works and thoughtful investment in the services our community needs.

A monthly donation of $100 to $199 or an annual gift of $1,300 to $2,499 places supporters in the Rothery Circle. Their impact is directly seen at the individual pet level. Each month they cover the cost of spaying a cat in our care.

Mead Circle

Sally Mead was an unforgettable force for animal welfare within the shelter and our community. During her nearly 20 years of service as Shelter Director, Sally guided Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA through changing times and a menagerie of animals. Mead Circle members echo her tireless passion for the pets and people she served by making an indelible impact on our community with their generosity.

A monthly donation of $200+ or an annual gift of $2,500+ places supporters in the Mead Circle. Their impact is directly seen at the individual pet level. Each month they cover the cost of spaying a dog, heartworm treatment, or 2 dental surgeries for pets in our care.

lyon society

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA’s work is done every day, every week, every month, every year without fail, and we need our community members to show up with the same continued support. Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA’s work is done every day, every week, every month, every year without fail, and we need our community members to show up with the same continued support.

Named for Anna Grace Lyon, whose $5,000 bequest in 1934 (nearly $125,000 today) gave the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA the financial foundation to support our mission long before we had a shelter to call our own. The Lyon Society carries that legacy forward… recognizing donors whose consistent support keeps programming steady, year-after-year, for the animals and people who need it the most.

Lyon Society members have supported CASPCA at Pack giving level for 3 or more consecutive years. This group of dedicated community members and their support are critical to our mission and vision.

Consistent giving allows CASPCA to plan for the future, knowing that our daily operations are funded. The impact of annually and monthly recurring donations’ impact is magnified by providing funding we, and the pets and people we serve, can count on.
